One of the most exciting parts of our launch night was seeing a diverse academic and professional crowd fill the room. Alongside our international travelers and digital nomads, we were thrilled to host students joining us from top local institutions across Taipei—including National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and neighboring universities.
Whether they are local Taiwanese students looking to practice foreign languages or international exchange students diving deep into Mandarin, having such a bright, energetic academic community brought an incredible dynamic to the tables. It is exactly what Dn’xt Station is all about: bridging local cultures and global perspectives in a cozy, co-living environment.
A Wave of First-Timers: A huge highlight of the evening was seeing so many local Taiwanese participants who had never been to a language exchange before! Many discovered us through introduction by friends or via local platforms like Threads, stepping out of their comfort zones to join our community.
A Truly Global Mix: Alongside our local university crowd, we had international representation in the house, including exchange students visiting all the way from Germany and Austria exchange students. We had a table full of Ming Chuan university students who included Caribbean locals indonesian students, and latino people from south america Argentina and Bolivia.
The Barbecue Icebreaker: Our Week 1 topic—centered around backyard barbecues as Taiwan mid autumn festival approaches next weekend, favorite grilling memories, and the weirdest things people have ever put on a grill—got everyone laughing and sharing stories right away.

As we look ahead to next Thursday, we are taking all your feedback to make our Taipei language exchange experience even better! To keep things comfortable, cozy, and interactive, here is what is coming up at the next stop:
More Space & Cozy Rooms: ensuring that everyone plenty of space to relax, sip drinks, and chat without feeling crowded.
